Demolition and Clearance Program Overview

The City of Victoria Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program concentrates its investment in Low- to Moderate-Income Census Block Groups to provide a more visible impact and is designed to give priority towards the elimination of unsafe structures in Low- to Moderate-Income Census Block Groups. The objective is to ensure a safe, sanitary, and clean neighborhood by reducing slum and blight and improving the quality of life. The targeted structures are vacant, dilapidated, unsafe, and unsanitary and are unfit for human habitation.

The requirements for the program include the following:

1. The applicant must own the property. A copy of the deed will need to be provided.
2. The property must be in one of the Low- to Moderate-Income Census Block Groups.
3. There must be no property taxes owed on the property.
