Ben Wilson Street to be reduced

Starting May 2, Ben Wilson Street will be southbound-only from Airline Road to Red River Street for seven months, weather permitting, so that construction can begin on the west side of Ben Wilson Street.
During this time, the pedestrian signal beacons on Ben Wilson Street at the University of Houston-Victoria will flash red at all times. Motorists should treat these red flashing lights like a stop sign: they should stop at the crossing, verify that no pedestrians are crossing and proceed when it is safe to do so.
All businesses and homes in the construction zone will remain accessible. Through traffic can avoid delays by seeking alternate routes.
The construction is part of the Ben Wilson Street – Airline Road to US Business 59 Project.
