The City will partner with the museum again May 26 for a car seat inspection event.
Caregivers can learn about best practices for child safety seats and find out whether their children are buckled up properly at the City of Victoria’s upcoming car seat inspection event in partnership with the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Golden Crescent.
The car seat inspection event will be 1-4 p.m. May 26 at the Children’s Discovery Museum, 1205 Sam Houston Drive. The inspections are part of the museum’s Super Summer Bash, which will feature local vendors, vintage-themed activities and the museum’s new signature ice cream.
Car seat inspections are free. Residents are encouraged to register in advance to help staff prepare for the event. To register, visit www.victoriatx.gov/carseat.
The City’s certified child passenger safety technicians will teach caregivers about best practices they might not be aware of, including how to use the seat belt or LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) systems in their vehicles and how to install car seats according to safety standards for their specific seats and vehicles.
Each caregiver must bring the child and the child’s car seat to the event.
The court plans to continue partnering with nonprofits to host car seat inspections in accessible locations. To partner with the court to host an outreach event, visit www.victoriatx.gov/courtoutreach.
