Residents will have a chance to learn about different types of resources that are available to meet a variety of needs when the City of Victoria Municipal Court hosts its first-ever Community Resource Fair 1:30-4:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Victoria Community Center.

Municipal Court Judge Vanessa Heinold hopes to attract many different organizations meeting diverse needs, including housing, job training, health care, child care and more.

“Our community has many dedicated groups that can help residents in need, but it can be difficult to keep track of who offers what,” Heinold said. “This event will be an excellent opportunity for residents to learn about what is available to them and for different agencies to learn information that they can share with their clients.”

The event is part of Municipal Court Week, when municipal courts nationwide raise awareness of their services through community outreach.

Host a booth at the event

Municipal Court is seeking local government agencies, nonprofits, faith-based groups and other community organizations that provide no-cost social services to host booths at the resource fair. Participating groups will also have the option to share presentations about their services during the event.

Organizations are encouraged to register by Nov. 3 so that Municipal Court can prepare a floor plan for the event.
