The City of Victoria Municipal Court is rolling out a new e-filing system that will simplify the process of uploading and reviewing case documents.
Attorneys who represent defendants in Municipal Court cases can register for the new system by filling out the form located at www.victoriatx.gov/municipalcourt.
Previously, the court processed case documents through email, fax or in-person drop-offs. The new streamlined process will help attorneys easily access and review documents related to their cases and others, said Municipal Court Administrator Tiffany Totah.
Totah has begun reaching out to attorneys with clients in Victoria to tell them about the e-filing system. Municipal Court defendants are represented by attorneys from throughout the Crossroads and around the state.
“We’re excited to be able to offer this new system that will be more convenient for attorneys and court staff,” Totah said. “E-filing is already required at the county court level, so this change will align our court to that standard.”
The e-filing system is part of the court’s online record search site, www.municipalrecordsearch.com/victoriatx. Residents can use the site to access information about their citations, view upcoming dockets and look up cases that have been completed in the past five years.
