The Ben Wilson Street Corridor Improvement Project is an ongoing project to redesign Ben Wilson Street on the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) campus.
The new design will include safety features such as crosswalks and traffic signals as well as wider sidewalks and improved landscaping, with an overall vision of increasing pedestrian safety and establishing the Ben Wilson Corridor as the entryway to the UHV campus.
This project is an opportunity for the City to collaborate with UHV to raise the profile of the university while responding to the Plan 2035 goals of improving mobility and sustainably managing population growth. The improvements will enhance livability in the area and will further establish Victoria as a destination for higher education.
The City of Victoria is committed to keeping the public informed about this crucial project and providing opportunities for commentary and feedback throughout the process. The City will continue to provide updates about the project and about future public forums through media releases, on social media, and at City Council meetings.
The Ben Wilson Corridor Improvement Project Public Forum was held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at 5:30 p.m.
